Breathtaking murals beautify city walls & a burgeoning writer shares his passion with the public

From the time he was about 8 years old, Rafael Arturo Shabazz turned to the page as a source of inspiration. Raised by his Dominican mother, Spanish was Shabazz’s first language. After learning English at Russell Elementary school in Dorchester, he fell in love with poetry. In 2018, Shabazz wrote his first book Isaac, and in 2022 he released his poetry album A New Afro Latino Beat Poet.
